I will always think of him as Mr. Andrews, one of the best teachers I ever had. He was always gruff on the surface, but just one inch below that facade he was a deeply involved and supportive teacher. Mr. Andrews was the first person outside my family to really encourage me to pursue my interests in art and theatre, which made a huge difference in my life. I went on to become a professional illustrator and writer, and have even acted and performed professionally from time to time. I couldn't have done it without Mr. Andrews's early faith in my ability to make it happen. I know I'm only one of hundreds (or even thousands) of people he encouraged during his teaching career and his life. Though I offer my deepest condolences to his friends and family, they can be very proud of this caring and generous man. Best, Sam Agro
