Jeanne Edna Eitel (1926 – 2014)
Jeanne Edna (Roddick) Eitel passed away peacefully at Terrace Lodge Nursing Home, Aylmer on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the age of 88 years. Beloved wife of the late Stewart Eitel (1996). Jeanne is survived by her son Ted Eitel and his wife Sheila of British Columbia. Cherished grandmother of Jeanette Simpson and her husband Jesse, Brendan Eitel and his wife Stacy and great-grandchildren Sydney, Jamie, Taylor and Dylan all of British Columbia. Jeanne is also survived by a niece Jeanne Herner, a sister-in-law Esther Eidt and many cousins. Predeceased by her parents Carmen and Mary (Hanson) Roddick, her son George Eitel, sisters Helen Patterson, Agnes Herner and brother Robert Roddick. Jeanne was a former Past President of the Tillsonburg Kinnette Club as well as the Jean Brumpton Womens Institute. She attended Avondale United Church in Tillsonburg as well as volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. The Funeral Service for Jeanne will be held in Ostrander’s Chapel on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Diabetes Association, Alzheimers Society or the Terrace Lodge Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to Lois and all the nurses and aides at Terrace Lodge, Aylmer for the quality and compassionate care she received over the past years.
