At the Maple Manor Nursing Home, Tillsonburg, on Sunday, April 03, 2011, Jean Eileen Obern passed away with her loving husband of 65 years, Ted, by her side. She was 84 years of age. The greatest mother to her son Martin and his wife Anna-Lisa of Toronto. Wonderful “Nana” to Britta and Linnéa. Sister to Keith Shenton, Irene Stanley and Christine Evans, all of the U.K. Beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Lilly Shenton, brother Roy, sisters’ Audrey and Sheila. Jean was very passionate about dancing and was very active as a volunteer within the community of Tillsonburg. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Saturday, April 09, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. To 1:00 p.m. Jean’s Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. following the visitation in Ostrander’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Fr. Bill Ward of St. John’s Anglican Church, Tillsonburg officiating. Inurnment will be at the Tillsonburg Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Jean’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
