Obituary for Larry Wayne Catton

Larry Wayne Catton
Larry Wayne Catton (1950 – 2017)

Larry Wayne Catton passed away at his home in London on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the age of 66 years. Beloved husband of the Late Shirley (Graves) Catton (2004). Loving father of Alyse Catton of St. Thomas, Sandy Cowan (Bill) of Brantford and Dave Cowan (Kelly) of Aylmer. Cherished grandfather of Matt, Cole, Emma and Lane. Dear brother of Dan Catton (Pat) of London and Jamie Catton (Nancy) of Breslau. Larry is also survived by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Barbara (Kennedy) Catton. Bar none, the greatest day in his life was the day his precious daughter was born. She gave him a new lease on life and was a turning point for the best. Larry had an impressive and diverse career. He worked several years at the Port Burwell Provincial Park as a Park Ranger. Then he took an entry-level position at FBC as a travelling tax consultant. In a few short years as the company recognized his talents, he rose through the ranks and became a Regional Manager of numerous divisions, relocating temporarily to Winnipeg and then Calgary, before returning to St. Thomas to be closer to family. Alyse, David and Sandy are also eternally grateful for the devotion and care he gave to Shirley, standing by her side throughout her diagnosis of a brain tumor and the 8 years that followed. He was determined to give her the best life he possibly could, and that he did. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at the Bethel Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Brain Tumor Research Foundation would be appreciated by the Catton family.
