Raymond “Ray” Robbins 1924 - 2017
Peacefully, on Wednesday January 4, 2017, with his family at his side, Ray Robbins of St. Thomas, at the age of 92 years. Beloved husband to Doris (Norman) for 71 years. Caring and much loved father to his children Phyllis Fick (George Godby) Langton, Arnold Robbins (Irena Lebedz) Eden, Judith Workman (David) Wallaceburg, Christina Robbins, London. Survived by sister-in-law Eva Stasila, Langton, brother-in-law Earl McConkey Sr., London. Predeceased by his son Robert Robbins (1984), daughter Lois Carlton (2012), daughter-in-law Audrey Robbins (2006), grandson Glenn Godby (2014), great-grandson Tyler Gallie (2012), his brothers and sisters Bill, Jean, Maxine, Myrtle, Evelyn, and Armand. Beloved Papa to 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. A special heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff at Elgin Manor for their excellent care. Dad served over seas during World War II (1942-1945), came home, married and raised a family. He grew tobacco for many years then started his own carpentry business. He was an entertaining storyteller and his love for his family knew no bounds. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Family and friends are invited to join the Robbins family for a visitation and service that will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Ostrander’s Funeral Home Limited, 43 Bidwell St. Tillsonburg, (519)- 842-5221. The visitation will be from 11:00am-12:00pm at which time the service will be held. Inurnment to be held in spring of 2017 at Kinglake Cemetery.
