Obituary for Jeffrey "Jeff" Alan MacIntyre

Jeffrey "Jeff" Alan MacIntyre
Peacefully, after several lengthy battles with cancer, surrounded by his family at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Sunday, November 20, 2016, Jeffrey “Jeff” Alan MacIntyre, of Tillsonburg, passed away at the age of 59 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Theresa Mulhern. Proud and caring father of Natalie Harder (Adam Blackmore) and step-father of Christopher Mulhern (Tracey) and Kevin Mulhern. Cherished grandpa of Emily and Josh and step-grandchildren Adrien, Adam and Aerin. Dear brother of Robbie (Lisa), Ronnie, Christine MacIntyre, Sandra Mueller (Bill) and Lorrie Shepherd (Marty). Jeff is also survived by his nieces and nephews and many, many friends in the Tillsonburg area. Predeceased by his parents Alan (1984) and Elizabeth (Burvill) MacIntyre (2002). Jeff was a skilled builder. He loved helping his friends with building projects. He was an avid golfer and fisherman and he enjoyed beer and euchre at Jack’s Place with all his friends. Jeff dearly loved his faithful lab, Moka. Jeff was a survivor. When cancer came into his life over 14 years ago and the many times after, he felt the thread of life break and dreams fade. In the end the most amazing thing happened, cancer lost when grace appeared. Grace and love won, not the cancer. His memory will remain in the hearts he touched forever. Jeff appreciated all the help and support he received from all of his family and friends. That’s what gave him the strength and courage to fight his illness. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Thursday, November 24, 2016 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service for Jeff will be held in Ostrander’s Chapel on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Memorial donations to Canadian Cancer Research Society would be appreciated by Jeff’s family. Personal condolences can be made at www.ostrandersfuneralhome.com
