Katherine Jean Jakobi (1945 – 2016)
After a lengthy illness, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday October 30, 2016 at Victoria Hospital, London. Katherine Jakobi (Vancso) passed away at the age of 71 years.
Beloved wife of David for 50 years. Much loved mother to David Jakobi (Malena) of Niagara Falls, Michelle Jakobi (Chris) of Barrie and Allison Jakobi (Carey) of Tillsonburg. Cherished Grandma to Kaiden, Kai, Keira, Charlotte, Olson, Nick and Tasha (Adam). Also survived by her brother Bob Vancso and his wife Janice of Milton, a sister-in-law Linda Vancso and brother-in-law John Biro and his wife Judy. Predeceased by her parents Norbert (1979) and Mary (1991) Vancso as well as a sister Mary Biro (1990). Kathy as she was lovingly known, very much enjoyed dancing and socializing with her many friends. Kathy worked as an office administrator at the Ostrander Funeral Home from 1983 to 1998.
Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 1-2:30 p.m. A memorial sercice will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:30 P.M. Pastor Paul Schallhorn and Father Tom Ferrera officiating.The celebration of Kathy’s life will continue at Hickory Hills Recreation Centre where a light luncheon will be provided for all that knew Kathy. Memorial donations in Kathy’s memory may be made to the Sunshine Foundation or a Charity Of Your Choice would be appreciated by the Jakobi family.
