Willard “Keith” Buchner (1927 – 2016)

Peacefully, with his family by his side at Woodingford Lodge, Tillsonburg on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, Willard “Keith” Buchner, formerly of Brownsville, in his 90th year. Beloved husband and best friend for 65 years to Florence (Dennis) Buchner. Loving and caring father of Chris and his wife Sandy of Brownsville, Paul and his wife Ruth of Brownsville, Owen and his wife Cathy of Georgetown, Glenn and his wife Cheryl of Tillsonburg and Kathy Johnston of London. Cherished grandfather of Nikki, Jennifer, Jill, Greg, Derek, Andrew, James, Kevin, Sean, Owen, Aaron, Zach, Letalia and 14 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Benona and Lela (McBride) Buchner, great-granddaughter Lilah Whittington and 2 sisters Ruth Holland and Gertrude Herron. Keith was a prominent Member of the Brownsville United Church and later Avondale United Church in Tillsonburg. He was also a Member and President of the Oxford Holstein Club, President of the Oxford Federation of Agriculture and First Vice-President of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture. Keith also had a love for music. He was a Member of the Barbershop Quartet Tune Tillers. Keith served as Director of the Barbershop Chorus Woodstock Harmony Highliters for many years. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The interment will take place at Delmer Cemetery on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. A Memorial Service for Keith will be held at Avondale United Church, 60 Harvey Street, Tillsonburg on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Taylor officiating. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Oxford Alzheimers Society or Avondale United Church would be appreciated by the Buchner family.
