1942 – 2016
Robert “Bob” Joseph Fairall, of Tillsonburg passed away at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at the age of 74 years. Proud and caring father of Robert Fairall of British Columbia, Jim Fairall of Edmonton and Donnie Fairall of Woodstock. Cherished grandfather of 5 grandchildren. Dear brother of Dennis Fairall (Janet) of Windsor and Lynne Robertson (Andy) of Burlington. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Donald and Mamie (Honsberger) Fairall. Bob spent most of his life in the military. He served in the armed forces for 38 years retiring as a Major. He also served with the United Nations as Chief Security Officer in Tiblisi, Georgia, Addisababa, Ethiopia and Asmara, Eritrea. Bob was the recipient of the Order of Military Merit of Canada award. In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at a later date in Delmer Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the Tillsonburg Legion from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Memorial donations to Soldier On or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
