Joseph  Vecsi
In loving memory of Joseph Andrew Vecsi who passed away peacefully on Monday May 9th at Saint Mary’s Hospital Kitchener.
Joseph was the beloved husband of Patricia Anne Vecsi (Bennett) father of Joseph George Vecsi (Colleen) and Lisa Anne Penner (John). Dearest Poppa to four wonderful grandchildren Joseph Patrick Vecsi, Naida Anne Gardner, Michael George Vecsi and Bella Margarite Gardner.
Joseph spent many happy summers at Turkey Point Marina fishing and watching the boats go by. He loved teaching his grandchildren to fish and drive his boat. He obtained his private and commercial pilot’s license at Emery-Riddle Aeronautical Institute Miami, Florida. He graduated as an air traffic controller in 1960 he had the honor of being the only air traffic controller to bring JFK’s Air Force One in to Canada. He owned the Causeway Restaurant in Long Point and was an Accountant in Tillsonburg.
Survived by Sister-In-Law Mary Vecsi and nieces Diana Piron, Betty Scott (Lynn), Darlene Brooks (Harry), and nephews Andrew Seres (Lisa) and Robert Seres (Janette). Joe was the last surviving members of his original family. Predeceased by his parents Sophia and Joseph Vecsi, Brother Gerald Vecsi, Sister Annabella Seres (Andrew) and niece Rosemary Ross (John).
Joe was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Joe will be the first to be buried at the family resting place Tillsonburg Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Joe in the Avondale United Church Parish Hall, 60 Harvey St, Tillsonburg, ON from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.on Saturday, May 14, 2016, all are welcome. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home Limited, 43 Bidwell St., (519) 842-5221 whom have been entrusted with arrangements.
